The radial shaft sealing ring (1) is vulcanized into the crankcase cover (2) and can only be replaced together with the crankcase cover (2). Do not reuse crankcase cover (2) with radial shaft sealing ring (1) after removal.
Do not touch the sealing lips (1d) of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) and the contact surface (3a) on the crankshaft flange (3), as they must be free of oil and grease.
When using the insertion device, make absolutely sure that the sealing lip (1d) of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) is aligned correctly.
Ignoring this instruction may result in a leaky radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Preparation
1 | Connect insertion device (271) and insertion device (271a). |
Later on during assembly, the conical shape of the insertion device (271a) pushes the sealing lip (1d) in the right direction. |
2 | Slide crankcase cover (2) onto connected insertion tool (271, 271a). |
The sealing lip (1d) must point in the direction of the crankcase. |
3 | Pull off insertion device (271a) from insertion device (271). |

Cleaning
4 | Degrease the contact surface on the crankshaft flange with assembly cleaner. |
Do not clean the contact surface with abrasive paper. |
5 | Degrease the sealing surface of the new crankcase cover with assembly cleaner. |
Install
6 | It must Apply sealant to new crankcase cover in the shape of a bead (A) with a thickness of roughly 2.0 mm using a squeeze gun. |
Do not spread the bead (A). Mount the crankcase cover within a period of 5 min after applying the sealant. |
