Replace bearing in articulation system on front section

Remove

1

Remove the z folded bellows separating it completely from the front carrier

Remove the fastening bolts and the union bolts from the front carrier's articulation

Support the rear carrier on racks leveling it with the front carrier before separating them.

The bolts, nuts, and washers that fasten the articulation must be replaced.

Remove the snap rings (3) together with the washers (2) at both sides of the bearings (1)

Put a removal drift (5) on the metal-rubber bushing (4) in one of the bearings, place the support drift (6) on the opposite bearing. Install the hydraulic press with the lengthener (7) and remove the bushing (4)

The removal drift, the support drift and the bipartite compressor plate are part of the tool kit for the bushing's removal and installation.

Repeat the previous work step procedure to remove the bushing (4) from the opposite bearing



Install

Compress a new metal-rubber bushing using the bipartite plate

Install the bipartite compressor plate next to the bushing end (4), reposition the plate as per the insertion of the bushing in the bearing

Put the new metal-rubber bushing (4) with the bipartite plate on one of the bearings, place the support drift (6) on the opposite bearing. Install the hydraulic press and insert the bushing (4) in the bearing

Install a new metal-rubber bushing free of lubrication.

The removal drift, the support drift and the bipartite compressor plate are part of the tool kit for the bushing's removal and installation.

Repeat the previous work step procedure to install the new bushing (4) in the opposite bearing

Install the washers (2) and the snap rings (3) at both sides of the bearings (1)

Install the new fastening bolts and the union bolts from the articulation to the front carrier

The bolts, nuts, and washers that fasten the articulation must be replaced.
