1 | Open the fuel tank closing cap and close it again | Open the sealing cover to relieve the overpressure in the fuel tank. | |
2 | Open the engine compartment | Access to perform the maintenance and repairs varies according to the bodywork type/manufacturer of the bodywork. | |

3 | Clean the surroundings of the fuel filter module | ||
4 | Replace the fuel filter (2) | ||
5 | Remove the fuel prefilter threaded cover (1) | Only remove the threaded cover with the filtering element after the fuel has been drained from the fuel filter housing. | |
6 | Detach the fuel prefilter strainer pressing it to the side | Please pay attention so that foreign bodies do not enter the filter housing. | |
Under no circumstances clean the fuel filter module. Otherwise failures can occur in the module functions. | |||

7 | Replace the sealing ring in the fuel prefilter threaded cover (1) | Grease lightly the sealing ring. | |
8 | Place a new strainer in the fuel filter module | ||
9 | Screw and tighten the fuel prefilter threaded cover (1) | Fuel prefilter cover on fuel filter module | |
| Check | ||
10 | Check the leak-tightness of the fuel filter module with the engine running | Only inspection. After stopping the engine. | |
11 | Check then failure of the fuel filter change on diagnosis equipment | Using the diagnosis equipment, delete the failure "overdue fuel filter change" or "clogged fuel filter" on engine management control unit (MCM) | |
