Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start the engine and allow to run until the operating temperature is reached

Change engine oil only when engine is at normal operating temperature. Dispose of used oil properly and in a manner acceptable to the environment.

Turn off engine

3.1.1

Remove the oil drain screw (1) on the oil pan and drain the engine oil

Only perform when the engine oil is not extracted.

Collect engine oil which runs out in a suitable container.
Drain engine oil completely.

3.1.2

Screw in oil drain screw (1) of oil pan

Only perform when the engine oil is not extracted.


Clean oil drain screw (1).

Install new seal for oil drain screw (1).

Pour in engine oil at oil filler neck (6)

In the process it is essential to observe the specifications in the operator's manual and MTU Specifications for Operating Fluids otherwise damage to the engine can occur.

In the process observe the quantity which has already been poured in via the filler opening in the oil filter bowl (3).

Checking

Start engine and observe oil pressure gauge with the engine idling

Under no circumstances may the speed of the engine be increased, as long as no oil pressure is present otherwise the engine may be damaged.

The oil pressure indicator must display pressure after a maximum of 10 s. Otherwise switch off the engine and determine cause.

Allow the engine to run for 2 to 3 minutes, then switch off the engine

Observe oil pressure indicator in the process.

Check all oil drain screws and oil filler screws for leaks

After a waiting time of approx. 5 minutes check the oil level and correct if necessary
