Remove front bottom crossmember.



Remove towing eye (5).

 To do so, remove the bolts (6).

Remove both side trims on the front bumper.



 Dispose of license plate holder.

Install

Prepare trim on front bumper for retrofitting the body-styling bar (1).

Install both side trims on the front bumper.

Fasten bracket (7.1) with towing eye (5) and screws (6) on the longitudinal frame member (8.1).

Fasten bracket (7.2) with nuts (12), washers (11), and reinforcement (10) to the threaded plate (9).

 To do this, position threaded plate (9) as shown in the longitudinal frame member (8.2).

Install screws (13) with washers (14) in the brackets (7.1, 7.2).

Fasten bracket (19) with screw (18), washers (16), and the nut (15) to the bracket (17).

Attach spacers (1.1) to brackets (7.1, 7.2).

Install body-styling bar (1) as shown in the direction of the arrow (B) on the vehicle.

 To do this, fasten the body-styling bar (1) with screws (13), washers (21, 22), and nuts (20).
Helper required.

Guide threaded rod (25) with the nut (24) and washer (23) through the radiator grille (26) to the bracket (19).

Fasten threaded rod (25) with screw (27), washers (28), and the nut (30) to the bracket (29).

Coat threaded rod (25) in tightening area of nuts (24, 32) with thread locking adhesive.

Secure license plate bracket (33), as shown, with screw (36), washer (35) and screws (34).

No additional license plate adapters may be used to fasten the license plate. The license plate must not protrude beyond the upper edge of the license plate bracket (33) and cover up the front camera.
Otherwise, the functions of the front camera will be limited.

Hand over brackets (40) to the customer. The brackets (40) are not installed.

 Designation of the affected special equipment: Depending on the version, code Y1H (front protective paneling (nudge bar) polished steel) or code Y1I (front protective paneling (nudge bar) black steel).

 Attach note "Complete body-styling bar retrofitted as per AN88.30-S-0015P" under field organization texts for DG 88.

Perform SCN coding at PARKTRONIC control unit (PTS) (N62).



Hand over operator's manual of body-styling bar (1) to customer.

 If an operator's manual is missing, this can be downloaded in the "ODUS" system (XENTRY Portal) and printed out.
