Prepare adhesive for installation of tie-down rails (1, 2).

Mask off hatched areas around the tie-down rails (1, 2).


No adhesive may leak onto painted surfaces.
Otherwise, paint damage can occur when removing the cured adhesive.

 For this purpose, move tie-down rails (1, 2) to installation position and mask off adjacent areas using suitable tape.

Sand undersides of tie-down rails (1, 2) with enclosed sanding material.

Clean undersides of tie-down rails (1, 2) and bonding areas in masked off areas.

Cleaner

Apply bonding agent to undersides of tie-down rails (1, 2).

 Observe manufacturer's data for use and processing time of bonding agent.

Retrofit lower parts of the tie-down rails (1, 2) on the platform floor.

Remove tapes around tie-down rails (1, 2).


Adhesive curing time is 12 h. For this reason, tie-down rails (1, 2) may only be subjected to tension after the curing time.
Damage may occur otherwise.


Vehicle may not be exposed to outdoor weather conditions for at least 1 h after the installation of tie-down rails (1, 2).
Damage may occur otherwise.

Install platform inlay.



Note down serial number.

 The serial number of the tie-down rails (1, 2) is located within the tie-down rails (1, 2) at the shown positions (arrow C).

Retrofit upper parts of the tie-down rails (1, 2) on the platform floor.

Clean bonding surfaces for the warnings (4, 5).

Bond warning (4) centrally to the inside rib of the platform paneling (3) as shown.

 To do this, use rear end of the tie-down rail (7) as a dimension edge.

 Observe dimension (b).

Bond warning (5) to the platform inlay (6) as shown.

 To do this, bond warning (5) to the top edge (arrow D).

 Observe dimension (C).

Enter special equipment with noted serial number in Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc).

 Designation of corresponding special equipment: Code Y1W (load bed anchoring rails).

 Attach noted serial number and note "Tie-down rails subsequently retrofitted with screwed cover caps on platform floor as per AN60.30-S-0030P" under field organization texts for design group 60.
