Notes on anti-theft alarm (ATA) fault memory

The ATA control module only has one fault memory. For this reason, no distinction can be made between current faults (existing faults) and stored faults (was a fault but is no longer present).

The stored faults can be read out via the diagnosis connection using the HHT when the ignition is "ON".

After calling up the function from the "fault memory" menu item, the numbers of the faults that are stored in the control module are displayed, together with the associated texts.

Procedure for stored faults:

Erase fault memory. Activate and deactivate anti-theft alarm system. Read out fault memory again. If the fault has been stored again, remedy fault as described in the testing of electrical system program.
