Install

1

Remove reinforcing washers (2) on both longitudinal frame members in the area of the rear front spring brackets

Check both longitudinal frame members in the area of the rear front spring brackets

 If no cracks are found:



Only carry out operation step 3.

If cracks are found:



Carry out all operations as of operation step 4.

Install reinforcing bracket (5) and bracket (7) instead of the reinforcing washer (2) on both longitudinal frame members

 Only carry out if the frame is not cracked.



Weld frame

 If necessary clarify with the Market Performance Center (MPC) responsible in which workshop the frame can be welded.

Loosen wiring harnesses on both longitudinal frame members in the area of the rear front spring brackets and pull slightly to the side

Jack up vehicle at the front frame until the springs of the front axle are relieved of load

Support frame

Remove rear front spring brackets

Remove cross traverse under the transmission

Remove bolts in installation area of reinforcing bracket (1) on both longitudinal frame members

Position reinforcing brackets (1) on both longitudinal frame members

 Mount the bolt with the previously installed reinforcing washer (2) first in each case.

Screw reinforcing bracket (1) onto both longitudinal frame members

 To do this, in addition install one reinforcement (4) each on both longitudinal frame members, with flattened side pointing to the mounting console of the fuel tank.



Additionally install the bracket (3) for fastening the wiring harness on the right longitudinal frame member

 The bracket (3) must be adapted during assembly.

Install rear front spring brackets

Install cross traverse under the transmission

Paint installed parts with the corresponding frame color

 See repair guidelines "Paintwork".

Fasten wiring harnesses in the longitudinal frame members in the area of the rear front spring brackets
