Due to several customer complaints on remote trunk release system in model 208.4 (CLK convertible) we request you to inform our customers on the following technical context in detail:
The trunk lid cannot be completely opened by the remote trunk lid release system.
It is only unlocked visibly.
The technical solution for the trunk lid hinge in model 208.4 (CLK convertible) is not identical with the that on model 208.3 (coupe).For this reason it is not intended for he trunk lid to open completely automatically on the convertible as on the coupe.
This information should avoid unnecessary troubleshooting. Unnecessary complaints can be reduced by informing customers accordingly.
In addition to this information revised operating instructions will be included with the new vehicles indicating the technical difference listed above more clearly as previously.
