Modification notes
Special wrench W 541 589 04 63 00
for coolant screw plug (M60, SW32) on crankcase
For safety reasons, only the special wrench as of manufacturing date 11.98 may still be used.
The manufacturing date is stamped onto the flat piece of the special wrench.
It has been determined that on special wrenches prior to this date, faults occurred while quenching.
As a result, when tightening or releasing the screw plug, the special wrench may break suddenly, thus possibly causing injury to the user.
Recall
Please send the special wrench W 541 589 04 63 00, which was manufactured prior to 11.98, to the GLC-Germersheim with return goods delivery note (RWL). You will then receive credit for the returned special wrench.
Order
Replacement for the returned special wrench must be reordered through the usual channels, specifying the part no. as well as the required quantity.
