Adjustment
-------------------------------
Note
Adjust idle speed before adjusting engine control.
Adjust only with engine at operating temperature.
1 Unhook connecting rod (1) to the injection pump on the transfer lever.
2 Move slotted lever (2) to idle position. For this purpose push the roller (3) in the slotted lever against the stop (arrow).
3 To adjust loosen hex. head bolt (arrow) and adjust connecting rod (1) so that it can be hooked onto the transfer lever without tension.
4 Tighten hex. head bolt after adjusting.
5 Depress accelerator pedal to "full throttle" position.
Note
The accelerator pedal should only touch the kickdown switch (4) without actuating the kickdown switch.
Measure distance "A" between roller (3) in guide slot and stop with accelerator pedal depressed to full throttle position.
Distance "A" should be 0.5 - 1.0 mm.
7 To adjust distance "A" loosen hex. nut (5) and move ball head up or down (direction of arrow) in elongated hole.
8 After adjustment tighten hex. nut and check distance "A".
9 Unhook connecting rod (6) between slotted lever and control cable lever for control pressure valve.
10 Press control pressure cable (4) back with control cable lever (7) opposite direction of arrow and then pull in direction of arrow until an increase in the force is felt.
Hold control cable lever in this position.
Note
In this position the transfer lever in the automatic transmission touches the control pressure valve.
11 Loosen hex. head bolt (arrow) in connecting rod (6).
12 Adjust connecting rod so that it can be hooked into the slotted lever without tension.
Note
During the adjustment operation the accelerator pedal must be in the "idle" position and the transfer lever in the automatic transmission must be in contact with the control pressure valve.
13 After adjusting tighten hex. head bolt (arrow).
