Slackening and tightening diagrams of camshaft bearing caps
Slackening instruction (OM 601):
1 Remove camshaft bearing caps 1, 3 and 5 (dark arrows).
2 Slacken each of the hexagon bolts of the camshaft bearing caps 2 and 4 (light arrows) in stages one revolution at a time until the counter-pressure is eliminated.
Tightening instruction (OM 601):
1 Tighten hexagon bolts of the camshaft bearing caps 2 and 4 (light arrows) in stages one revolution, 25 Nm.
2 Tighten hexagon bolts of the camshaft bearing covers 1, 3 and 5 ( dark arrows), 25 Nm.
Slackening instruction (OM 602):
1 Remove camshaft bearing caps 1, 2 and 6 (dark arrows).
2 Slacken each of the hexagon bolts of the camshaft bearing caps 3, 4 and 5 (light arrows) one revolution in stages until the counter-pressure is eliminated.
Tightening instruction (OM 602):
1 Tighten hexagon bolts of the camshaft bearing caps 3, 4 and 5 (light arrows) one revolution in stages, 25 Nm.
2 Tighten hexagon bolts of the camshaft bearing caps 1, 2 and 6 (dark arrows), 25 Nm.
Slackening and tightening diagrams of cylinder head bolts
Slackening instruction:
Slacken the cylinder head bolts as shown in the respective slackening diagram and unscrew.
