Preceding work:
Removing air filter (09-400 or 09-410).
Removing bottom engine compartment fairing (01-006).
Removing torsion bar (32-300).

Engine oil

drain, pour in (step 1).

Cable (351a)

unplug, plug in.

Clips (1a)

pull off, detach fan shroud (1), place over fan, attach.

Exhaust pipes (48)

unbolt at exhaust manifold, bolt on (49-100).

Support of exhaust bracket (53) at transmission

unbolt, bolt on (49-180).

Bolts (22) of front engine mounts to body

unscrew, screw on (22-210).

Engine hoist

attach to lifting eyes and lift engine.

Oil sump (26)

unbolt, bolt on.

Tightening torque:

M6 10 Nm,

M8 25 Nm.

M10 40 Nm,

Oil sump (26)

take off, clean sealing surface, install.
Replace gasket (31).

Engine

run and check for leaks.

Removal and installation

1 Drain engine oil. Remove oil drain plug for this step, install, 25 Nm. Replace seal.

2 Disconnect cable at oil level sensor, plug in.

3 Remove clips for fan shroud, detach fan shroud, place over fan, attach.

4 Unbolt exhaust pipes at exhaust manifold, bolt on (arrows) (49-100).

5 Unbolt support for exhaust bracket at transmission (49-180).

6 Unbolt front engine mounts at bottom of body (22-210).

7 Raise engine with engine hoist.

8 Unbolt oil sump, remove to the front.

Tightening torque:

M6 10 Nm,

M8 25 Nm.

M10 40 Nm,

Installation note

Replace oil sump gasket.

9 Carefully clean contact surface at oil sump and at crankcase.

10 Install in the reverse order.


11 Run engine and check for leaks.
