The touchpad/lower control panel consists of the touchpad (2), left lower control panel (1) and right lower control panel (2). The switch panel assignment depends on the model, equipment and steering variant. The touchpad (2) receives signals from the switch panels via LIN. On model 290, the touchpad (2) receives signals from the switch panels via the Drive Unit control unit.
The upper control panel is also connected to the touchpad (2) via LIN.
The touchpad (2) forwards the switch panel signals to multimedia system control via a CAN interface. Therefore, the touchpad (2) is the communications interface between multimedia system control and the switch panels.
