Function

When driving straightahead and with a balanced ratio of forces in the steering gear (2), the rotor (9) of the star valve (5) is held by the torsion bar (10) in the middle position / neutral position vis-à-vis the control covers (3 and 4). The oil flow pumped by the power steering pump (6) flows without restriction through the star valve (5) into the return flow.

The same pressure conditions prevail in both working chambers (A and B).

The end limiting valve (1) is closed, the pressure limiting valve (7) is likewise closed.
