The CDI control unit is installed in the fuse and relay box in engine compartment at the rear left.
Task
The CDI control unit controls, monitors and coordinates the entire engine control. For this purpose, it exchanges data with other control units that are networked with one another in the vehicle via the CAN data bus (Controller Area Network).
Function
The CDI control unit controls, monitors and coordinates the following systems according to its input signals:
Fuel injection
Boost pressure control
Exhaust gas recirculation
Electronic accelerator/cruise control/idle speed control
Drive authorization system stage/immobilizer (DAS 3)
Diagnosis/fault memory/EOBD
Diesel particulate filter (with DPF Code 474)

A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is also available as an option for each engine version with the code 474.
