The applied positions of the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) are read in and evaluated by the MR/PLD control unit.
Actuation of the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) has a different effect depending on whether the engine is switched off or running:
Effects on actuating the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) when the engine is switched off:
The engine can be started by actuating the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) if the cab is tilted.
If, in addition to the engine start pushbutton switch (S10), the engine stop pushbutton switch (S11) is also actuated, the engine can be cranked for service operations without it being started because, in this case, actuation of solenoid valves in the unit pumps is interrupted.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A safety function in the software for the control unit and drive control (FR) control units does not allow the engine to start when the gear is engaged (starter protection function), and / or prevents the starter from getting actuated when the engine is already running (start lock).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Effects on actuating the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) when the engine is running:
If the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) is actuated when the engine is running, the MR/PLD control unit increases the idle speed continuously until the engine reaches the limit speed, or the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) is released again. Immediately after the engine start pushbutton switch (S10) is released, the engine control (MR) regulates the idle speed again.
Since the MR/PLD control unit detects that the engine is running, it prevents the starter from getting actuated again (start lock).
