Carry out the jobs only with disconnected retarder. When carrying out jobs on a very hot retarder, wear protection gloves, clothes and safety glasses.

Risk of injury

With the retarder hot, the oil temperature reaches levels above 60º. Therefore, in the operations of oil change or checking the oil level, skin contact with the retarder or hot oil may cause serious burns.

Safety instructions/ procedures

- When carrying out jobs on the retarder, it must be disconnected.

- Utilize protective gloves, clothes and glasses.

Measures of first aid

- Wash the affected skin part with plenty of running water and cover it with sterilized gauze.

- In case the eyes get in contact with retarder oil, rinse them immediately with plenty of clean water.

- In case of eye injury caused by oil jets from the retarder immediately seek medical help.
