Covering on beadings and offsets:
The painted exterior surface of the body is divided by strips, covers and joints in sectional paintwork. This reduces the amount of work required for painting jobs.
Beading and stepped edges which are not fitted with trim strips are to be masked so as to obtain a smooth transition to the existing paintwork.
1 Mask off the existing paintwork approx. 5 mm from the edge.Stick the adhesive tape (1) over this, fold it over and secure it with strips of adhesive tape (2).

2 Peel away adhesive tape (1).
After completing the paintwork (before drying), remove the adhesive tape (1) so that the wet paint can blend at the transition without forming an edge.

Covering beads when painting adjacent parts (e.g. door, engine hood, trunk lid)
Method A:
1 Mask off beads approx. 5 mm away from the area to be painted using masking paper (6).
2 Glue adhesive tape (3) over with overlap, fold over and fasten with adhesive strips (4) so that it is flush with the surface to the painted. Close the door.

Method B:
1 Mask off beads approx. 5 mm away from the area to be painted using masking paper (6).
2 Fold the edge of the adhesive tape (5) over to 1/4 of the width and stick together with the remaining part.
3 Secure the prepared adhesive tape (5) in the area of the fold so that the bonded side abuts the area to be painted. Close the door.
