Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Release pressure in coolant circuit

For this purpose turn coolant expansion reservoir cap to catch position 1.

Remove heater unit (A6)

Only remove until heater cover (5) is accessible.

Unclip heater unit cover (5)

Unclip coolant pump connector (8)

Installation: coupling is coded.

Detach fastening (17) and unhook bracket (13)

Installation: First hook in coolant pump bracket.

Pinch off coolant feed hose (4)

Disconnect coolant pump (A6m1) from coolant hose (4)

Collect escaping coolant and refill into coolant expansion reservoir after installation.

Install in the reverse order

Following installation, bleed the coolant circuit

Risk of explosion caused by fuel vapors igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling combustible gases and risk of injury caused by burns during and after operation of heater unit

Do not operate stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster in closed areas or when refueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves.
