Remove

 Danger

Risk of fire/risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC.

No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

 Warning

Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism.

When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m).

Remove wiper arms

Lift off rubber seals (3) on left and right from water deflector (6)

Lift rubber seal (4) off partition

 Only in center area.

Remove bolt (1)

Remove screw/bolt (2)

Move hood from vertical position to opening position

Unclip water deflector (6) from fold in windshield

 The water deflector (6) is clipped into the lower area of the windshield across the entire length (arrows).

Remove water deflector (6) upward toward windshield from air/water duct


Look out for damage to water deflector (6) in area of mount on left side (magnifying glass).
To do so, lift water deflector (6) at right first and pull out at left side under splash panel (12).

 Lift suspension strut mount cover (5) slightly.

Unscrew four nuts (7, 8)


Do not twist knurled nut (10):
Otherwise, the inclination angle of the windshield wiper system will be adjusted.

Detach wiper motor connector coupling (9)

Remove windshield wiper system (11)



Install

Insert windshield wiper system (11)

Screw in three nuts (7)

 Nut/bolt, wiper system to body

Connect wiper motor connector coupling (9)

Move wiper motor to parked position
