Clamp off ground line from the battery and detach ignition key

Remove driver seat

Remove cover (1) below driver's seat

Remove bracket for the relay (11) and unscrew control units (12, 13) and lay down in the seat base with connected lines

 Depending on the vehicle equipment, varying numbers of brackets may be installed.

Open the protective flap on the driver seat frame

Unscrew fuse/relay holder (6) and lay down in the seat base with connected lines

Remove flap (8) for the parking brake lever threaded connection

Unscrew parking brake lever (10)

 Lay parking brake lever (10) down to the side loose with connected cables.

 Bolt, hand brake lever to seat base

Snap bottle holder (3) out of the grab strap with the screwdriver

 Lay rags in between to avoid damaging the bracket

Expose rear seat frame screwed connection

 Lift floor mat behind the seat base (7) somewhat until the rear seat base threaded connection is freely accessible.

Remove seat base (7)

 Installation: Ensure that no cables are pinched under the seat base.

 Bolt, seat base to cab floor

Check that the contact surface of the seat base is completely painted; touch up with a brush if necessary

 Since the seat base is already mounted in the body shell ex factory, it may not be possible to set up anti-corrosion protection on the attachment surfaces. Therefore, missing anti-corrosion protection needs to be set up again if necessary when the seat base is reinstalled.

Install in the reverse order

Set time on instrument cluster

Except code J19 (tachograph 1 day/2 driver automatic (EC)), except code J28 (tachograph 1 day/2 drivers with additional screw 2-stage)

Set time on timer for auxiliary heater

For code H86 (timer for auxiliary heating)
