Remove/install

Open maintenance flap

Remove front bumper

Remove boot between inlet duct piece and air filter housing

Release boot (12) at steering gear and slide upwards

Check whether marking on primary shaft of steering gear and assembly slot of universal joint (13) are in alignment

If the assembly slot has moved.



Mark installation position of universal joint (13) to primary shaft.

Remove universal joint (13) of lower steering shaft from steering gear

 Installation: The contact surface for screw and nut at universal joint (13) must be free of grease. Note marking or identification.

 Fit bolt/nut, universal/constant velocity joint

Adjust jib length of cab assembly cradle to fit the roof height



Attach crane or forklift hook to assembly cradle



 Lift assembly cradle slightly with crane and take off casters.

Open door

Position front assembly cradle in door cutout and tension slightly



Remove retainers (2)

Remove pin (5)

Remove swiveling lever (4) from bearing bracket (7) and pivot upward

Check whether cab mounting (8) is free of tension

 The cab mounts (8) should not be seated on the contact surfaces at front or rear. There must be a gap between the contact surfaces (A, B).

If no gap (A, B) is present.



Lift or lower cab with lifting cradle.



Check whether tilt cylinder is free of tension

 The upper suspension of the tilt cylinder must have play.

Remove bolts (6) from cab mounting (8)

 Bolt, stabilizer bar to front cab mounting

Unscrew nuts (1) fro suspension strut mounts

 Nut, suspension strut to front cab mounting

 Nut, suspension strut to stabilizer bar

Remove suspension struts (11)



 Lift suspension with lifting cradle until bolts (10) can be pulled out.

Pry out stabilizer bar (21) with tire lever from cab mounting (8)

Remove bearing bracket (7) from vehicle frame (22)

 Nut, bearing bracket to vehicle frame

Completely remove stabilizer (21) with bearing brackets (7)

Remove bearing brackets (7) from stabilizer bar (21)

 Bolt, stabilizer bar to bearing bracket

Check bearing bushings at stabilizer bar (21) for wear

If bushing are worn.



Replace bearing bushings.

Install in the reverse order
