Remove/install

Remove center and front bottom engine compartment lining.

 Installation: Install center and front bottom engine compartment lining only after the leak check.

Remove right lambda sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/6) and the right lambda sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/4) and left lambda sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/5) and left lambda sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/3).

Remove left gasoline particulate filter differential pressure sensor (163/5) and right gasoline particulate filter differential pressure sensor (163/6) from the bracket (1) and place to one side with connected pressure hoses.

Remove bracket (3) upward.

Remove holder (2).

 Bolt, rear heat shield bracket to crankcase

Secure left gasoline particulate filter (4) and right gasoline particulate filter (5) against falling down.

Remove clamps (6).

 Installation: Align clamps (6).

 Clamp, front exhaust system to turbocharger

Check version of the clamps (6).

If a one-piece clamp (6) is installed,



Replace clamp (6).

If a two-piece clamp (6) is installed,



Replace nuts and bolts.

Remove differential pressure lines (7) from left gasoline particulate filter (4) and remove differential pressure lines (8) from right gasoline particulate filter (5) and place to one side.

Only when replacing the left gasoline particulate filter (4) and right gasoline particulate filter (5).

Remove drive shaft with drive shaft housing.

Remove heat plate from bulkhead downward.

Remove left gasoline particulate filter (4) and right gasoline particulate filter (5) downward.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check leak tightness of the exhaust system.

Install the center and front lower engine compartment paneling.
