Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
Warning | Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing AdBlue | Pour AdBlue into suitable containers only. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.

Flushing | |||
1 | Switch off ignition. | ||
2 | Connect diagnostic system. | See information from body manufacturer.
3 | Install test connection (4) at compressed air inlet of metering device (1). | Only if no test connection (4) is available.
The test connection (4) can remain on the metering device (1).
4 | Remove SCR air pressure sensor (7).
5 | Pour water into the bore (6). | Pour in water until it overflows from the bore (6).
6 | Install SCR air pressure sensor (7).
7 | Connect flushing hose (3) to the test connection (4). | A measuring hose can be used as a flushing hose (3).
Measuring hose | |||
8 | Remove tire valve on flushing hose (3).
9 | Pour water into flushing hose (3) until a water column (A) of 4 cm is achieved. | In the process, hold the flushing hose (3) at such a height that the water flows in the direction of the test connection (4).
10 | Screw tire valve onto flushing hose (3).
11 | Connect compressed-air gun (2) to the flushing hose (3).
12 | Flush metering device (1).
Pressurize the flushing hose (3) with compressed air until the water is completely removed.
13 | Start engine. | See information from body manufacturer.
14 | Check operating pressure on metering device (1) with the aid of the diagnostic system by querying the actual value 69. | See information from body manufacturer.
Specified value for operating pressure at SCR compressed air sensor
If the actual value is above the specified value:

Repeat flushing process.
If the actual value is still above the specified value after a repeated flushing process:
| |||
Replace diffuser and sieve at compressed air inlet of metering device (1).
Remove/install diffuser at metering device of exhaust gas aftertreatment system
Remove/install sieve at inlet for compressed air for metering device of exhaust gas aftertreatment system
15 | Switch off engine. | ||
16 | Remove flushing hose (3). | The test connection (4) can remain on the metering device (1).
