Remove/install

Remove/install bottom engine compartment paneling

Disconnect O2 sensor connector (G3/2x1 or G3/3x1, G3/4x1)

Remove heat shield for steering gear pitman arm

Disconnect flange connections for exhaust manifold/ catalytic converter or front exhaust system



If bolts are sluggish, or thread damaged: 

Replace rivet nuts in exhaust manifold

Disconnect flange connection on transverse pipe (arrow)

 Remove transverse pipe

Remove carrier (10)

Unscrew nuts (6a) on left and right carrier

Remove left frame cross strut

Remove rubber mount (18)

 Model 129: 

Remove rubber mount on rear muffler

Remove complete exhaust system

 Installation: Model 129 LS 60 AMG 

Observe installation position of rear muffler to AMG bumper

The AMG component numbers are punched on to be able to differentiate between them, see 



Checking

Check rubber mount (18) and sintered sealing ring (5)

Replace, if necessary.

Install in the reverse order
