Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

Before opening the hydraulic system of the power steering, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point. Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions or damage to the power steering

Remove air filter housing

Remove poly-V belt

Remove power steering expansion reservoir

Detach feed line of expansion reservoir on power steering pump (1)

Detach high pressure expansion hose (2) from power steering pump (1), to do this remove banjo bolt (3)

 Use a rag to clear up any escaping oil and seal the line connections using stop plugs .

 Installation: Replace sealing rings.



Detach plug (4) from power steering pump pressure regulator valve (Y10/1)

Remove coolant compressor (A9) from timing case cover and engine support; to do this unscrew the bolts (5)

 Separate refrigerant compressor connector (A9x1) and put down refrigerant compressor (A9) with pipe system connected towards the radiator.



Remove screw (6)



Detach ground line (7) from longitudinal member

Detach power steering pump (1) from timing case cover by unscrewing the bolts (8)



Take out power steering pump (1)

Install in the reverse order

Fill and bleed power steering pump (1)

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
