3 | Unclip retaining lugs (a) of steering column module (N80) from carrier plate (5) | ||
4 | Pull out steering angle sensor (N49) from carrier plate (5) | Installation: Check basic position of steering angle sensor (N49) (observe arrows on steering angle sensor (N49) and inner race (2). If the steering angle sensor (N49) twists, move the steering angle sensor (N49) into the center position before installing it again: To do so, carefully turn the inner race (2) of the steering angle sensor (N49) in a counterclockwise direction all the way to the limit stop. Turn inner race (2) of steering angle sensor (N49) lightly up to the limit stop, as otherwise it may be damaged. Finally, turn the inner race (2) through approx. two rotations in a clockwise direction, until the arrows on the steering angle sensor (N49) and inner race (2) line up. | |
