The check valve 8.01 is installed as standard as of approx. VIN K 423 286.
1 Connect test kit.
2 Connect test gauge 1 to tire inflation connection test connection (1).
3 Connect test gauge 2 to air suspension supply pressure test connection (2).
W42.60-0049-01
4 Connect test gauge 3 to air suspension auxiliary air reservoir test connection (3).
If there is no test connection (3), one must be installed in the auxiliary air reservoir
5.01 (V6.2).
5 Release all pressure in the air suspension system.
6 Start engine and fill compressed-air system at idling speed.
Do not fill the compressed-air system from an external source.
7 Observe the pressure gages during the filling process and fill compressed air system up to the cutoff pressure.
First, the pressure on test gauge 1 (tire inflator connection) rises to approx. 10 (- 0.4) bar = opening pressure of overflow valve 7.02, then the pressure on test gauge 2 (air suspension supply) rises to approx. 10.3 (-0.3) bar = opening pressure of overflow valve 7.01, until finally the pressure rises to the cutoff pressure on all three gauges.
No air must escape from the vent on the pressure regulator during the filling process. If air loss is discovered before the cutoff pressure is reached, the compressed-air drier must be replaced.
8 Switch off engine.
9 Actuate brake. The pressure on test gauge 1 (tire inflator connection) should fall.
The pressure on test gauges 2 (air suspension supply) and
3 (air suspension auxiliary air reservoir) must not fall.
10 Operate air suspension system with operating unit until the pressure on test gauges 2 and 3 has dropped to approx.
5 bar.
The pressure on test gauge 1 (tire inflator connection) may drop to approx. 7 bar.
The pressure on test gauges 2 (air suspension supply) and
3 (air suspension auxiliary air reservoir) continues to fall.
If these test values are not obtained, the installed position (flow directions) of both overflow valves and of the check valve must be checked.
