Preparation

Run in parking brake before test and setting procedure


Do not thermally overload the parking brake.
Otherwise, the parking brake may be damaged.

 Bed in parking brake with a brake force of approx. 1000 N for a maximum of 60 seconds on the brake test stand.
Alternatively, accelerate vehicle to 60 km/h and apply parking brake lever lightly for approx. 8 seconds.



Remove

Lift vehicle on vehicle lift

Remove wheel and tire assembly from rear axle

If light alloy wheels are mounted.

Unscrew one wheel bolt from each rear wheel and tire assembly

If steel wheels are mounted.

Adjust

Release clamp screw (5) from eccentric disk

 Move eccentric disk back to end stop.

Adjust basic clearance for parking brake

Install

7.1

Install wheel and tire assemblies of rear axle

If light alloy wheels are mounted.

Tighten wheel bolts on wheel and tire assemblies of rear axle

If steel wheels are mounted.
