Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.

Release parking brake

The supply pressure of the service brake must be at least 8 bar.

Discharge compressed-air system

Unscrew spring actuator release bolt (3)

Installation: New combination cylinders (2) are delivered in the released condition.

In release position

Operate parking brake

Remove compressed-air lines (4)

Installation: replace O-rings.

Detach combination cylinder (2)

Check the connection housing of the brake caliper and combination cylinder (2).

If there is condensed water in the connection housing of the brake caliper, a new brake caliper must be installed:

If there are traces of corrosion on the sealing surface, the housing opening, and the brake lever at the combination cylinder (2), a new combination cylinder (2) must be installed.

Installation: clean sealing surfaces at combination cylinder (2) and at brake caliper. Coat spherical cap (5) at brake lever with grease. Use new self-locking nuts (1).

Install in the reverse order

Fill compressed-air system

Allow the engine to run until the brake system comes up to pressure.
