Remove, install diaphragm cylinder

4 Nut

5 Pin

6 Compressed-air line

Remove/Install

Secure vehicle against rolling

Depressurize air brake system

Pull vent valve on compressed-air reservoir.

Clean connection of compressed-air line (6).

Disconnect compressed-air line (6) from diaphragm cylinder (1).

Plug connection of compressed-air line (6) with suitable plug.

Remove cotter pin (2) and take out pin (5).

Installation: Install new cotter pin (2).

Unscrew nuts (4) and remove diaphragm cylinder (1).

Install new self-locking nuts (4).

Installation: Install new washers (3).

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Allow the engine to run until the air brake system comes up to pressure.

Adjust play of drum brake.
