Secure vehicle against rolling

Release parking brake

Remove release bolt (11) at left combination cylinder (1) or right combination cylinder (2).

Installation: Left combination cylinder (1) and right combination cylinder (2) are supplied with loosened release bolt (11).

Depressurize air brake system

Pull vent valve on compressed-air reservoir.

Clean connections of compressed-air lines (3, 4, 9, 10)

Mark compressed-air lines (3, 4, 9, 10)

Installation: Observe installation position of compressed-air lines (3, 4, 9, 10).

Remove banjo bolts (5, 6) and take off compressed-air lines (3, 4).

Only when removing left combination cylinder (1).

Plug connections of compressed-air lines (3, 4) with suitable plugs.

Installation: Install new sealing rings.

Remove banjo bolts (7, 8) and take off compressed-air lines (9, 10).

Only when removing right combination cylinder (2).

Plug connections of compressed-air lines (9, 10) with suitable plugs.

Installation: Install new sealing rings.

Remove cotter pin (14) and take out pin (13).

Installation: Install new cotter pin (14).

Remove nuts (12) and take off left combination cylinder (1) or right combination cylinder (2).

Installation: Install new washers for nuts (12).

Install in the reverse order

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Allow the engine to run until the air brake system comes up to pressure.

Adjust play of drum brake.
