Disassemble/assemble brake caliper on front axle

Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Disassemble

Remove vent valve

Remove protective caps (1)

 See fig. A.

Hold one piston (2) securely with C-clamp and press out the free piston (2) with compressed-air

 In order to avoid damage to the piston (2), insert a wooden plate into the lining shaft.

 See fig. B.

Seal piston bore (3) with rubber cover and C-clamp and press out piston (2)

 In order to avoid damage to the piston (2), insert a wooden plate into the lining shaft.

 See fig. C.

Remove seal rings (4)

 See fig. D.

7

Clean all parts, check for wear and damage

 Replace worn or damaged parts.

Assemble

Coat sealing rings (4) and piston (2) with silicone grease and install

 See fig. E.

Silicone grease is included in the repair kit.

Fill protective caps (1) half-full with silicone grease and press onto shoulder of piston bores (3)

 See fig. F.

Silicone grease is included in the repair kit.


