Clean

Clean the brake drum and check it for damages and cracks
If any problem is found, replace it.
Machining

Attach the brake drum (1) to the grinding machine (2), perfectly centered
Remove eventual barbs on the attachment surface.

Remove enough material to achieve a uniform surface, free of flaws
Inspect the braking surface.

When the drum diameter reaches the upper limit of each repair classification, it must be grinded down to the lower limit of the next classification
Do not exceed the maximum allowed diameter.
Always grind the brake drum pairs of the same axle.
