Check front axle alignment

 Check the left and right mechanical steering stop; adjust if necessary.
The electrohydraulic auxiliary steering [EHZ] control unit uses these values to determine the theoretical center position of the front axle.
Leave the turn plates, alignment bridges and the brake pedal jack on the vehicle if the straight-ahead position or the toe were adjusted.

Teach in front axle steering angle sensor (B96)

Only if the straight-ahead position or the toe were adjusted.

 If the center position of the front-axle steering angle sensor (B96) is not OK, then the front-axle steering angle sensor (B96) cannot undergo the teach in process. An incorrect center position for the front-axle steering angle sensor (B96) is indicated by a single flash of the electrohydraulic auxiliary steering indicator lamp.

If the front-axle steering angle sensor (B96) teach-in process is not possible.



Mechanically adjust the front-axle steering angle sensor (B96) and repeat the teach-in process.
