Remove/install

Remove portal housing with portal axle final drive

2.1

Pull out input shaft of portal axle final drive (1)

 On version without fixing the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) to the drive gear.

2.2.1

Remove upper circlip (4)

 On version with fixing the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) to the drive gear.

2.2.2

Pull cover (5) out of hole

 On version with fixing the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) to the drive gear.

 Installation: Insert cover (5) until it abuts with the lower circlip (6). Replace O-ring.

2.2.3

Disengage lower circlip (6)

 On version with fixing the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) to the drive gear.

2.2.4

Unscrew locking screw (3) from the axle shaft on the portal axle drive (1)

 On version with fixing the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) to the drive gear.

 Installation: The installation position of the drive shaft of the portal axle drive (1) is only determined exactly when the screw head of the locking screw (3) abuts the end face of the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1). Cover the thread of the locking screw (3) with adhesive.

Pull out the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) and remove fixing bolt (2)

 On version with fixing the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1) to the portal housing.

 Installation: Grease the fixing bolt (2) and insert flush with the holes in the axle shaft of the portal axle drive (1).
