Remove

1

Remove the differential assembly

Remove the sprocket with the differential

Unlock the collar nut (8) and remove the O-ring (7)

Remove the flange (6) together with the oil baffle (5)

Remove the pinion (13)


Install again the flange nut (8) on the pinion (13).
This prevents the pinion fall (13) and damage to the thread.

 Striking the pinion (13) with the aid of a hammer and bronze billet until its removal.

Remove radial seal (4)

Remove the o tapered roller bearing (3)

Remove the tapered roller bearings (12) from the pinion (13)

Check

Check the tapered roller bearings (3, 12) for wear and damages

In case of damage or wear:



Replace the tapered roller bearings (3, 12).



Install

Install the tracks of tapered roller bearings (2)

 Only in the replacement of tapered roller bearings (3).

Heat the tapered roller bearing (12) up to approximately 80º C and install it in the pinion (13)

Check

Check the correct seating of the tapered roller bearing (12) on the pinion (13)

If there is no good settlement:



Use a appropriate mandrel to correct.

Determine the thickness of the pinion's (13) spacer washer (9)

Mount the spacer ring (10)

Install the determined spacer washer (9)

Heat the tapered roller bearing (3) to approximately 80 ºC and install it in the pinion (13)

Check

Check the correct seating of the tapered roller bearing (3) on the pinion (13)

If there is no good settlement:



Use a appropriate mandrel to correct.

Install the radial retainer (4)

 Install a new radial retainer (4).
