Remove

Remove the differential assembly

Remove the ring gear with the differential

Unlock the collar nut (7)

Remove the flange (6) together with the oil deflector (5)

Remove the pinion (12)


Only install the collar nut (7) on the pinion thread (12).
In order to protect the pinion thread (12) and prevent it from falling.

 Place the differential assembly housing (1) on a press and remove the pinion (12).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (4)

Remove the tapered roller bearing (3)

Remove the tapered roller bearing (11) from the pinion (12)

Check

Check the tapered roller bearings (3, 11) for wear and damages

In case of damage or wear:



Replace the tapered roller bearings (3, 11).



Install

Determine the compensating washer for the pinion (12)

Heat the tapered roller bearing (11) to approximately 80 °C and install it on the pinion (12)

Determine the thickness of the pinion's (12) spacer washer (8)

Check the correct seating of the tapered roller bearing (11) on the pinion (12)

If the tapered roller bearing (11) does not seat correctly on the pinion (12),



use a proper mandrel to seat the bearing correctly.



Install the spacer bushing (9)

Determine the thickness of the pinion's (12) spacer washer (8)

Check the correct seating of the tapered roller bearing (3) on the pinion (12)

If the tapered roller bearing (10) does not seat correctly on the pinion (12),

use a proper mandrel to seat the bearing correctly.
