Remove the brake bracket with the brake caliper

Mechanically lock the differential lock

Remove the axle shaft (9)

Unlock and remove the outer grooved nut (8)

Remove the locking plate (7) and remove the inner grooved nut (6)

Lift out the rear wheel hub (4) and the outer taper roller bearing (5)

 Removal and installation tool

Remove both radial shaft sealing rings (2.1 and 2.2)

Remove the cover plate (3) from the rear wheel hub (4)

Remove the snap ring (1)

 Split the pressure ring (1) with an appropriate tool, and remove it.



Install

Clean the pressure ring seating surface (1) on the axle support tube

 Warning

Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Heat up the new pressure ring (1) to approx. 80 °C and install it up to stop on the axle support tube

 Press the pressure ring (1) until it has cooled, so that its mounting position no longer changes.

Install a new cover plate (3) on the rear wheel hub (4)

Install the new radial retainers (2.2 and 2.1)

A mandrel with only one complementation ring should be used.
Otherwise, the sealing lip of the inner retainer (2.2) could be damaged and there will be leaks at the rear wheel hub (4).



 Slightly grease the outer rubberized sealing surface of the inner retainer (2.2).

Install the rear wheel hub (4) on the axle support tube

 Be careful to not damage the sealing lip of the retainer (2) or the retainer (2.1 and 2.2).

Slightly grease the outer tapered roller bearing (5) and install

Tighten the inner slotted nut (6)

 Constantly turn the rear wheel hub (4) and tap a few times crosswise with a rubber hammer, so that the tapered roller bearings fit snugly.

Loosen the inner grooved nut (6) approx. 1/4 of one turn

Slightly lubricate the locking plate (7) and install it on the axle support tube

 The locking plate (7) lug should be pointing outwards.

Tighten the outer grooved nut (8)

Check again the wheel hub bearing clearance

Lock the outer grooved nut (8)

 Insert the locking plate (7) in the appropriate grooves of the inner (6) and outer (8) grooved nuts.

Clean the sealing surface on the rear wheel hub (4) and on the flange of the axle shaft (9), and apply sealant
