Remove the wheels

Remove the support with a brake caliper of the rear axle

Remove the semi-axle (7)

 Only for axles with the axle shaft (7).

Unlock the locking plate (5) and remove the grooved nuts (6, 4)

Remove the guard plate (3)

Remove the wheel hub (2)

 The outer tapered roller bearing and the brake disc will come out along with the wheel hub (2).

Remove the inner race of the inner tapered roller bearing and the radial seal ring from the wheel hub (2)



Check

Check the surface wear of thrust ring friction (1), if necessary, replace it

In case of damages, wear or furrows on the friction surface:



Replace the track ring.



Install

Install a new race ring (1)

Only in case replacement is needed.

Install the inner tapered roller bearing and a new radial seal ring in the wheel hub (2)

 Lubricate the bearing with grease.

Grease, DB supply specification 6804 - Class 267.0

Install the wheel hub (2) together with the brake disc

 Installation:
Install with care:
To not damage the radial seal ring or the thread of the axle.

 Lubricate with oil the contact surface of the race ring (1) and of the radial seal ring.

Install the outer tapered roller bearing

 Lubricate the bearing with grease.

Install the guard plate (3)

Install the grooved nut (4), the locking plate (5), and the grooved nut (6)

Adjust the wheel hub bearings axial clearance
