Remove/install

Discharge compressed-air system.

Loosen the rear wheel nut (83).

 Using hydraulic jack to lift the wheel and support vehicle frame with jack stand (84).

 Tightening of Wheel nuts

Remove rear wheels from both left hand side and right hand side.

 Using hydraulic jack lift the rear axle of the vehicle and support it with chassis jack stand placed rear axle (85) and at sufficient height to allow the wheels just clear of the ground.

Remove the propeller shaft (86) from differential end and retarder end.

Remove the both rear shock absorber (87) from anti-roll bar carrier and crossmember carrier.

 Installation: Remove the chassis jack stand (84).

 Rear both shock absorber to the antiroll bar bracket

Remove anti-roll bar (88) from link rod and anti-roll bar mounting carrier.

 Anti-roll bar from link rod and antiroll bar mounting bracket

Remove anti-roll bar mounting carrier (89) on both sides from rear axle.

 Anti-roll bar bracket on both sides to the rear axle

Remove the tag (90) on the compressed-air brake system lines and carrier.

Detach the compressed-air brake system lines (91).

 Wind off the wound nut (92) from spring break actuator (93) to disengage the parking brake.

 Disconnect the wheel speed sensor (95) electrical connector on the both sides.

 Winding it in opposite direction to engage the parking brake

Remove the differential vent hose (97) from axle housing.

 Support the rear axle on a suitable trolley jack.

Remove both side rear axle spring U-bolt (82) from the axle housing.

 Lift the rear axle using suitable jack and support axle both sides pallet trolley, after removing the jack (81).

 Both sides axle ‘U’ bolts

Remove the spring U-bolt and spring seat (96).

Detach the rear axle (94) from the vehicle.

 Installation: Lift the rear axle using suitable jack (81) and support axle both sides.

Install in the reverse order.
