Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove front wheel

Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Detach lower engine compartment paneling

Remove soundproofing

Remove bolts (1) and move stabilizer bar (2) downward

 Detach the stabilizer bar (2) carefully as it is under tension!



Support lower transverse control arm (3)

Mark installation position of the rear bearing bracket on lower transverse control arm (3) relative to the front axle carrier

 Installation: Align the markings applied previously with each other. When new parts are installed transfer the markings to them.

Detach bolted connection (6)

 Installation: Perform final tightening when vehicle is on measuring platform or in K0 position to prevent excessive stress on rubber bushings.



Detach bolted connection (8)

 Installation: Perform final tightening when vehicle is on measuring platform or in K0 position to prevent excessive stress on rubber bushings.



Unscrew nut (9), separate lower transverse control arm (3) from the steering knuckle

 The connection (lower transverse control arm (3) to steering knuckle) is not a conical joint.

Counterhold the bolt of the supporting joint.

 To unscrew nut (9) the lower transverse control arm (3) must be folded downwards.



Remove lower transverse control arm (3)

 Installation: Insert spacer washer (7) correctly.
