Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove front wheels

Remove/install wheels

Support vehicle using a suitable jack on rear drive module

Remove front stabilizer bar

Remove/install front stabilizer bar

 Do not remove front rubber mount and stabilizer bar.

Remove link rod (1) from transverse control arm (2) at right and left

 Counterhold link rod (1) using suitable tool.

Remove bolts (5) of steering gear (3) on front axle carrier (4)

Support both transverse control arms (2) using suitable jacks

 Support transverse control arm (2) so that the front axle carrier (4) is slightly under tension and does not slip.

Remove bolts (7) and remove trimming weight (6)

Unscrew nut (8) on both sides of transverse control arm (2) on flange ball joint (9)

 Counterhold bolt of flange ball joints (9) with suitable tool.

Pry off flange ball joint (9) using puller (10) from transverse control arm (2)

Lower front axle carrier (4)

Install

Position front axle carrier (4) and trimming weight (6)

Screw in bolts (7) finger-tight

Slide front axle carrier (4) to frontmost position and align centrally in this position

Align trimming weight (6)

 The distance between the leaf spring to the front screw sleeve must be 5 mm.

Tighten bolts (7)

 Bolt, front-axle carrier to body

Install flange ball joints (9) onto transverse control arms (2)

 Before positioning nut (8), support transverse control arm (2) and the vehicle at the rear with a jack.
Counterhold bolt of flange ball joints (9) with suitable tool.

 Self-locking nut, flange joint to transverse control arm

Tighten steering gear (3) on front axle carrier (4)

 Bolt, rack-and-pinion steering to front axle carrier

Tighten both link rods (1) on transverse control arms (2)

 Counterhold link rods (1) using suitable tool.

 Nut, link rod to transverse control arm
