1 Selector lever
2 Ball socket
3 Lock nut
7 Gearshift lever
x Play at selector lever
4 Adjustment nut
5 Lock nut
6 Ashtray

1 | Remove ashtray (6). | ||
2 | Slacken lock nuts (3) and (5). | Left or right-hand thread. | |
3 | Set selector lever (1) to position "P". | ||
4 | Detach ball socket (2) at bottom part of selector lever. | ||
5 | Press gearshift lever (7) at transmission upwards as far as stop. | This corresponds to selector lever position "P" of the transmission. | |
6 | Align ball socket (2) with coupling ball on bottom part of selector lever by turning adjusting nut (4). | ||
7 | Attach ball socket (2) to bottom part of selector lever. | ||
8 | Tighten lock nuts (3) and (5). | Do not turn adjusting nut (4) further. | |
9 | Check play "x" at selector lever (1). | If the cable is adjusted correctly, the play "x" is be the same in both selector lever positions "D" and "3", if necessary: | |
Repeat adjustment procedure. | |||
10 | Install ashtray (6). |
