Risk of injury to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid.

Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

Absolute cleanliness is essential when working on the transmission. Before opening the hydraulic system, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point. Only lint-free cleaning cloths may be used. Even the smallest dirt particles in the hydraulic components can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the transmission.

When performing repairs, always wear gloves lined with rubber that are oil resistant and non fibrous.

The transmission components are to be stored in a clean environment. Here we recommend storing the components in a clean plastic box with cover



Check which type of torque converter is installed in the vehicle

 Two types of torque converters may be installed in the vehicle:

 Torque converter with drain screw (proceed with operation step 2.1)

 Torque converter without drain screw (proceed with operation step 2.2)

 Collect transmission oil in suitable container and check transmission oil:

 If no contaminants (e.g. shavings) are found in the transmission oil of the torque converter, only replace transmission.

 If there are contaminants (e.g. filings) in the transmission oil of the torque converter, replace the transmission together with torque converter and flush out oil cooling lines (1a, 2a) and oil cooler:

The thermostat must be removed and replaced before flushing out the oil cooling lines (1a, 2a) and oil cooler.

 Connect hand pump to oil cooling line (1a)

Torque converter without drain screw

 Collect transmission oil escaping from the oil cooling line (2a) using a suitable container and check transmission oil:

 If no contaminants (e.g. shavings) are found in the transmission oil of the torque converter, only replace transmission.

 If there are contaminants (e.g. filings) in the transmission oil of the torque converter, replace the transmission together with torque converter and flush out oil cooling lines (1a, 2a) and oil cooler:
