1 | Remove shift mechanism | ||
2 | Detach complete outer shift housing from gearshift tube and remove seal | ||
3 | Detach end cover (1) from shift housing (6) | Clamp shift housing (6) in a vise. Drill a hole of approx. 8 mm diameter in the center of the end cover (1). Lever out the end cover (1) using a screwdriver. | |
4 | Unscrew nut (2) from shift shaft (14) | ||
5 | Drive shift shaft (14) out of inner bearing bushing (5) using a drift | ||
6 | Detach pressure plate (3) and outer bearing washer (4) | ||
7 | Pull shift shaft (14) out of shift housing (6) | ||
8 | Remove selector finger (10) an inner bearing washer (9) from shift housing (6) | ||
9 | Pull outer bearing bushing (7) together with radial sealing ring (8) out of shift housing (6) | | |

10 | Pull inner bearing bushing (5) out of gearshift housing (6) | | |
| |||
11 | Clean all parts, check for wear and replace if necessary | ||
| Assemble | ||
12 | Drive inner bearing bushing (5) flush into gearshift housing (6) | Only on transmission 714.668 | |

13 | Drive outer bearing bushing (7) and then radial sealing ring (8) into gearshift housing (6) | | |
14 | Insert the shift shaft (14) into the shift housing (6) and slide the selector finger (10) as a starting point on the shift shaft (14) | ||
15 | Insert inner bearing washer (9) and push gearshift rod (14) fully into selector finger (10) and inner bearing bushing (5) | Ensure notch (12) and cylindrical pin (11) are correctly seated. | |
16 | Insert in sequence the outer bearing washer (4) and pressure plate (3) | The groove of the pressure plate (3) must be seated in the cylinder pin (11). | |
17 | Screw nut (2) onto the shift shaft (14), tighten and secure by caulking three times | | |

18 | Insert end cover (1) in shift housing (6) | Secure end cover (1) with a hammer blow in the center. | |
19 | Install complete outer shift housing on gearshift tube | Replace seal. | |

20 | Install shift linkage. |
