Disassemble/assemble

Remove gearshift system.

Clamp shift housing (5) in a vise.

 Use aluminum jaws for the vise.

Remove retaining ring (12) from shift hub (1).

Remove washer (11).

Remove shift hub (1) with spring (2) and index bolt (3) from shift housing (5).

 The index bolt (3) is spring-loaded.

Unscrew index bolt (3) and remove spring (2) from shift hub (1).

 The index bolt (3) is spring-loaded.

 Assembly: Coat index bolt (3) with lubricant.

Remove detent segment (7).

 Assembly: Install screw/bolt (6) with thread locking compound.

Quick-acting adhesive, Loctite 270

 Detent segment to shift housing

Remove spring pin (8) and lock pin (9) from shift housing (5).

 Use a suitable drift. The recess (A) in the lock pin (9) must point toward the output end.

Remove needle bearings (4, 10) from shift housing (5).

 Assembly: Grease needle roller bearings (4,10) and install using suitable drift.

Disassemble shift hub (1).

Remove retaining ring (13).

Remove shift finger (15), locking bar (16) and washer (14) from gearshift shaft (18).

 Assembly: The shoulder (B) on the shift finger (15) and the blocking finger (C) of the locking bar (16) must face toward the bush (27).

Remove bush (17) from gearshift shaft (18).

Pull bush (27) off gearshift shaft (18).

 When doing this, collect the 6 balls (19) with a cloth.

Remove needle bearing (28) from bush (27).

 Assembly: Grease needle bearing (28).

Using a suitable tool, push bush (25) into gearshift shaft (18) and remove retaining ring (26).

Remove bush (25) from gearshift shaft (18).

Remove springs (21, 24), thrust pieces (22, 23) and bush (20) from gearshift shaft (18).
