Removing

Remove rear section of transmission housing

Disassemble

Clamp countershaft (3) into vise

 Use suitable aluminum protective jaws.

Remove front tapered roller bearing (1) and rear tapered roller bearing (2).



Remove circlips (4, 5)

Press toothed gear of 4th. gear, 3rd. gear,
5th. gear (6, 7, 8) off the countershaft (3)

 The toothed gears of the 4th. gear, 3rd. gear,
5th. gear (6, 7, 8) should be pressed off carefully, as otherwise they may be damaged.

Clean all components and check for wear, replace defective components if necessary.

Unclamp the countershaft (3) from the vise.



Assemble

Heat toothed gear of 3rd. gear (7) and toothed gear
of 4th. gear (6) to approx. 160 to 180 °C for a maximum of 15 min, and place toothed gear
of 3rd. gear (7) and toothed gear of 4th. gear (6) above each other in the press and align them relative to the center

Fit sleeve on countershaft (3) and press in countershaft (3).



Press on toothed gear of 5th. gear (8)



Repeat pressing procedure for

toothed gears of 4th. gear, 3rd. gear and
5th. gear (6, 7, 8)

 This serves to ensure that the toothed gears of the 4th. gear, 3rd. gear and
5th. gear (6, 7, 8) are pressed onto the end stop on the countershaft (3).



Clamp countershaft (3) into vise

 Use suitable aluminum protective jaws.

Insert circlips (4, 5).

 Ensure that circlips
(4, 5) are seated correctly in countershaft (3).

Heat front tapered roller bearing (1) and rear tapered roller bearing (2) to approx. 120 °C and carefully press them up to the end stop on the countershaft (3) using a suitable drift.

Unclamp the countershaft (3) from the vise.



Install

Install rear section of transmission housing
