Disassemble/assemble

Remove countershaft (1)

Clamp countershaft (1) in a vise

 Use aluminum soft vise jaws.

Fit gripper on rear tapered roller bearing (3) and pull rear tapered roller bearing (3) off countershaft (1)

 Assembly: Heat the rear tapered roller bearing (3) to approx. 120 °C using a commercially available hot plate and drive all the way onto the countershaft (1).

Fit gripper on front tapered roller bearing (5) and pull front tapered roller bearing (5) off countershaft (1)

 Assembly: Heat the front tapered roller bearing (5) to approx. 120 °C using a commercially available hot plate and drive all the way onto the countershaft (1).

Remove retaining ring (8)

6

Press constant countershaft gear (4), 6th gear countershaft gear (6) and 3rd and 4th gear countershaft gear (7) off countershaft (1) in succession using a workshop press

 Assembly: Heat the 3rd and 4th gear countershaft gear (7), the 6th gear countershaft gear (6) and the constant countershaft gear (4) to max. 180 °C using a commercially available hot plate and drive onto countershaft (1) in succession.

In the event of difficulty when pressing off



Heat the constant countershaft gear (4), the 6th gear countershaft gear (6) and the 3rd and 4th gear countershaft gear (7) with a commercially available heat gun when pressing on.

Unclamp countershaft (1) from vise

 Assembly: Use aluminum soft vise jaws.

Clean all components and check for wear and condition

If there are problems



Replace affected component.

Assemble in the reverse order
